Talloires, genevan land
From Geneva to Annecy's foreland, this area is the old fief of the Geneva's Counts and the Salève. Its limestone spurs and its mountain pastures are ran across by La Route des Crêtes which lets you discover the three summits of this mountain, with a panorama of the Jura, Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc.
Lots of villages are waiting to be discovered in this region limited in the west by the Rhone.
Nestled in the hollow of a Annecy Lake bay, this pleasant village was, until the Revolution, famous for its benedictine abbey built in the IXth century. Today, Talloires is a very popular tourist place for its beauty, and what's left of its abbey, that is to say buildings from the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries, has been converted in a hotel.
